Bread prices rise by 20 to 30 sen per loaf
Friday, November 2nd, 2007I just read at The Star Online on prices of bread and mee going up by at least 20% due to higher cost of wheat flour, so what’s next? 50 cents to Rm1 up for mixed rice? The price of mixed rice has been all time high (in PJ at least) with 3 dishes and white rice going for at least Rm4.50 - Rm6 and you dun get Chinese tea for 20 cents now, it’s at least 50 cents. Same old leaves in a big huge kettle and 30 cents increase. There’s no increase in cost for local or imported tea leaves as far as I am concerned, who gives them (the hawkers) the rights to jack up the price by 100%? Oops sorry, 100% is only 40 cents, not 50 cents!
Boss, when is my pay going to increase? Oh I forgot … it’s ‘one pound money for one pound work’ for you my boy, looks more like I am stuck with the same pay until the day I die and mixed rice becomes Rm15 per plate …
